Last week of work what! (Also yey monkeys monkeys!!!)

I have no idea how this happened. Probably because time acts linearly...shocking!

As of today, we have 4.5 days of work remaining. Of course, the work is still pretty crazy - leaving for the field at 5:30, not getting back until 7 or so in the evening. Curse you Earth's shifting orbit!

On the plus side, that means we have tonnes of daylight with which to focal monkeys and collect poops! In fact, rather than three sets of focals each week, now we're managing four! Can I get a whoop-awhoop-a-doop-yeah?

No?

Oh...that's okay too. I guess extra time spent staring at monkeys and their posterior protrusions isn't a party for everyone...sigh...

It is going to be a shock leaving Azrou. N, J, and I have become regulars at a local cafe (Cafe Flora) where we drink cafe au lait, jus d'avocad, and milleui avec fromage et amilou. Oh, the life of sitting and gossiping in the sun...so pleasant!

Mmmm...avocado juice...

Anyway! I have some extra time to kill now, and I think it's time you met some (more) of the monkeys!!!

BUT FIRST! BIG NEWS!!!!! ALERT ALERT!!!! There are now baby monkeys!!!! One of the females you can learn about below, Dakota, had a little baby boy this week. We have decided to name him Davos (after the Game of Thrones character - the theme for this generation of monkeys), and he is already the centre of attention of the group. Males are all trying to get in on the baby action, teeth chattering and trying to sandwich the infant. Oh, and the monkeys are also into Davos, just after Jamie and Paddy have had their turn.

And now for the monkeys!

Green Group (in no particular order)

Artemis
The ultimate male monkey - a great backup to the other males, loves babies, and is handsome to boot

Kerri (and her babby!)
Kerri is one of the higher females in the group, and can be a bit of a meanie, supplanting Anne and Joan at every opportunity. She is nice to her children, though, including the grown Krissy

Simon grooming Helen (look at dat ass...so lumpy!)
Simon is the top male of the group: he's a relatively quiet leader, not too violent or pushy, and loves to take care of infants whenever he can. We distinguish him most easily by his cat like ears, nose, and a big scratch along his back.

Helen
Such a sweetie! Helen is unfortunately pushed around often by the other monkeys, and is very timid. I think she is one of the prettiest adult females in either group, even though she has a torn ear. In the green group, this isn't a challenge unfortunately, as most of the females have some sort of facial disfigurement.

Noddy
Noddy is...well, old and senile. He also loves to masturbate around the youngsters. Dirty old geezer. Not a great photo of him, but he always has this contented look on his face, probably due to turned out mouth corners...or due to latent paedophilia. Who knows for certain?

Joan
Joan is probably my favourite monkey - she is clever, stays out of trouble, and is generally just pleasant to be around. Unfortunately she is near the bottom (if not at the bottom) of the pecking order, and has the face to prove it. Nearly her entire nose was torn off in a fight a few years ago, and she hasn't recovered. Because of this, Joan has the habit of rubbing and eating off her own boogers. Classy lady.

Mac
Gosh, what a dreamboat. Mac is a young male, and is leaner and smaller than the others but no less fun to be around. Also a fan of the youngsters, Mac plays friggen all the time, and is always there to back up a juvenile if they get into a scrap. After an extensive voting process, he has been declared the Most Handsome of the Monkeys. Just look at that face!

Ozz and Krissy
On the opposite side of the attractiveness spectrum, we have Ozz. Not much to look at, is he? Ozz is very old, likes to scratch inappropriately, and has his middle finger constantly stuck in the "up" configuration. He also loves making this face!
Krissy is also a beautiful monkey, and is one of the two young females in the group. She is a skiddish one as well, and spends much of her time trying to avoid getting into scraps and looking over her shoulder for other females trying to supplant her and snag her grazing spot.

Dakota
Dakota is our other young female monkey in the green group, and she is a sassy lady! Also was the first to give birth, too!

Lewis
A bit of a loner, really. Lewis is a sad-looking monkey, about the same age as Simon. He likes to stick to himself mostly, often seen around the outskirts of the group. I personally think he is quite nice, unassuming, and generally pleasant, but that could be because he isn't much of a fighter.

Ann
Oh, Ann. Sweet, but old and I believe more than a little senile. Ann loves to open-mouth people as they focal her, and can often be seen with this skeptical look on her scruffy face. At least she loves her babies! Also a lower female in the pecking order, she's often seen hanging around (and hassling) Joan.

Rebecca
Probably the top monkey of the group, Rebecca is actually rather boring. Pushy, loud, and generally difficult to be around, Rebecca seems to really enjoy getting on the nerves of the lower-ranking monkeys. What a jerk!!!

Not shown: George
If Lewis is a loner, George is a super-loner. He is seriously like a ghost at times...disappearing for hours just to saunter back into the group like he was never away. I still think he's a great monkey, and is a bit of a natural leader, directing the flow of the group to far and exciting places. Also not afraid of masturbating around babies, unfortunately...oh George...the funniest thing about George is his face. Quite dark around the eyes and cheeks with a bright pink upper lip that looks like a fabulous moustache.

Blue Group (in no particular order)
Caspar
Caspar is a rabble-rouser. He may also be a bit of a sociopath - he is all up the geriatric ladies' business, and was mating with Eliza loooong after he should have been. What a dork.

Izzy
Izzy is an upper-up female (not the top - wait until you see that sausage of a monkey!) who likes to heckle basically anyone who isn't the toppers. Surprisingly, she is an incredibly doting mother, and despite the giant chunk that has been torn out of her mouth, she is nice to be around when she isn't screaming at someone else.

Wanda
Oh Wanda, with your glorious eyeliner and fabulous taste in scream pitch, how do you do it? Wanda isn't exactly a popular monkey, but has perfected the ability to scream like an infant. The tourists love it, and she gets an awful lot of attention from the human-folk. As a result, she is on her way to SausageLand.

Penelope
Oh Penelope, with your grandiose moustache and your clever-clogs, how do you do it? Penelope is my soulmate monkey. I'm not sure why, but I enjoy being around her. Probably because she is timid, quite smart, and seems to have human behaviour figured out. She's often found at alternative feeding sites away from the other monkeys, snagging entire loaves of bread while the others are haggling amongst themselves for scraps and fighting. Also, she looks a bit like a bulldog, so what's not to love?

Tim
Yes, this is Tim. Isn't he graceful? An old fellow, Tim tries desperately to grow in the ranks without realizing that none of the other males are willing to give him a fraction of a chance. He isn't very fast, very bright, or very charismatic, and as a result seems to be at the losing end of every fight in the blue group.

Gulliver
Classy gent, Gulliver. He's a high-ranking male who is a fan of pestering people to get food from them. Quite the attractive fellow, he and Rocky are entangled in a beautiful bromance while Gulliver isn't engaged in his morning routine of sunrise-drenched yoga.

Connie
Connie is a turtle. Also an old female monkey, but mostly a turtle. Her back is horribly arched, her nose all turned up and wrinkled, and her eyelids fixed in a state of permanent shock. Unfortunately, she's a bit of a bully. The former alpha of the group, Connie is still trying to hold on to her former power, but can only really bully the very low females.
Further evidence of turtleyness:

Sarah
LOOK AT THE SAUSAGE! LOOK AT HER! SHE IS SO SAUSAGE AND BULLDOG MIXED TOGETHER OH MY GOSH WOW!!!

Not shown: Nico, Eliza, Isa, Rocky
I'll get photos of these guys this week (fingers crossed), and write up about them then.
